N95 and GPS

Postby KG. » Fri Aug 03, 2007 10:11 pm

I just found this while searching some technical infos about the N95:
the GPS-antenna ist located under the keypad ......
This means, you should have the slider opened for good signals.
*IMHO. it's a crazy location for the antenna*

Yes, and the keys "1", "2" and "0" are probably also on your keypad  , so let you slider open while using FoxyTag in order to participate...

Between antenna and GPS-Chip a low-loss connection is necessary. Remember the GPS signal recieved on erth to be less than 1/1.000.000.000.000 watts - a flexible and tiny cable or slider contacts to connect GPS module to antenna perhaps would cause more loss and more occasions of malfunction than a placement under keypad.
